Kate as an artist is something of a jack-of-all
trades. She has worked as an actor, singer, dancer, voiceover artist,
writer, director, and teacher. Until recently, she had been
living in Gainesville, Florida, earning an M.F.A. in Acting from the
University of Florida. She attended UF on a teaching assistantship, which
meant that while she was busy learning the finer points of acting, she was
also teaching budding young protegés what it's all about.
Originally, Kate hails from the Second City
(which will always be first in her eyes)--Chicago, Illinois. Though her
love for Chicago knows no bounds, and she hopes to return to work there
someday soon, she decided that the best place to put her Master's Degree to
the test is by going to the Master of all theatre cities--New York, NY.
So she packed up her life and drove it north, and now she has set up shop in
the Big Apple. She received her B.A. from the University
of Notre Dame, and while for three years she masqueraded as
a Gator, in truth, she is a Fightin' Irish girl through and through.
While studying in Gainesville, Kate has had the
privilege of working and interning at at the Hippodrome Theatre, appearing
as Sister James in DOUBT, Barbara in NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, Catherine in
THE MEMORY OF WATER, the Caterpillar in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, Miss Foxhill in
SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER, and Mrs. Dilber in A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
Favorite roles at the University of Florida
included Annie in THE REAL THING, Ursula in VINCENT IN BRIXTON (Irene Ryan
Acting Nominee), Lady Townley in THE MAN OF MODE and Mrs. Gibbs in an
international touring production of OUR TOWN.
Kate is a proud member of Actors’ Equity
Association. |
